Art in Love with Design♡Design Jealous of Art

Apr 15 - Jun 18
Details:
This exhibition is a small journey to discover the boundaries and "overlapping spaces" between design and art, following the 100 or so diverse works from postwar Japan over time. People who have devoted their hearts and minds to creating works in the respective worlds of design and art, with their changing social conditions and lifestyles, and passions for thought and expression, have sometimes fallen in love with the other, sometimes been jealous of the other, and may have used this as food to create new works for the world to see.

Art and design are the two pillars of the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka, which celebrated its first anniversary. This is the first exhibition to introduce the two together in parallel. This exhibition will not invite visitors to follow a story prepared by the museum, but rather, it will be created from the visitors' viewpoints.
