Nerd Nite Tokyo #57: Going Underground

Apr 19 @ 20:00 - 22:00 JST
Details:

Do you like TED Talks? Do you want to listen to an intellectual discussion with a glass of wine or a pint of beer? Then head to Nerd Nite Tokyo for your monthly dose of wisdom — and fun.

A message from Nerd Nite Tokyo:

Every month, we gather some smart speakers and a curious crowd, add a bar, and create something unique. This month, we’re going underground in search of volcanoes and fossils.

First, University of Tokyo professor Ryuichi Nishiyama will be exploring deep into volcanoes using high-tech muography. Then, University of Tsukuba paleontologist Emma Dangerfield is going to make sure that badgers get some respect.

Drinks (both alcoholic and non) will be available. Drink, meet, and be square-y! Kids are also welcome at Nerd Nite.

Speakers:
- Ryuichi Nishiyama — Muography and Gravity: A New Frontier in Volcanic Exploration
- Emma Dangerfield — Burrowed beneath: All about badgers!
