alliz is a community-driven digital space that fosters career advancement through casual conversations with experienced mentors. It provides learning and growth opportunities for those looking to design their career or advance in the IT industry, fostering knowledge sharing and mentorship.
Many mentors donate their time and expertise pro bono to help others develop their careers. Why did this system come into existence? What motivates mentors? It's interesting to think about it.
This event, titled "Exploring the Value of Mentorship," will invite Professor Daisuke Aratani of Keio University to talk about the concepts of gift economy 1.0 and 2.0 and their commonalities with community-based mentoring services like alliz. Mentors from IT companies, including Indeed, will also participate in small group discussions about career paths, skill development, and experiences in the IT industry. The event will be conducted in accordance with the Open Space Technology (OST) methodology, so please enjoy the interactive and proactive dialogue. The aim is for each participant to delve into important topics of interest and gain deeper insights.
This event is aimed at university students and working professionals of all disciplines and levels of experience. It is recommended for students seeking career guidance and mentorship, as well as working professionals interested in mentorship and community development. Why not end the year by learning together and reflecting on yourself before the winter and New Year holidays?

Introduction of speakers and topics
Professor Daisuke Aratani, Faculty of Letters, Keio University
Philosopher. After analyzing the structure of modern society, he works to implement proposals for its improvement. His main works include "Is there an exit for capitalism?" (Kodansha Shinsho) and "Gift Economy 2.0: Living in a world where you can live without making money" (Shoeisha).
Topic: Gift Economy 2.0
We are trying to create a platform (= Gift Economy 2.0) where receiving gratitude from others has solid social value. It is a mechanism where doing something for someone is something done for free without expecting anything in direct return, and at the same time, the gratitude received becomes an incentive in the gift economy. We are working hard to realize a society where the value of connecting with people is evaluated based on a standard other than money.
