Job Description

As a Principal Visual Designer on the eCommerce team, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers/partners to deliver on UX/Visual Design needs for the Norton and SurfEasy brands in the APJ region. You will use customer/market research, VoC feedback, competitive analysis and web analytics to identify new opportunities and enhancements to delight prospects and customers interacting with regional websites and the checkout experience.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in eCommerce web design and interaction and is willing to learn new web services and platforms and how the new platforms are utilized technically. The ideal candidate should be a fast learner who can adapt to change seamlessly. You should be detail and result-oriented, with an eye for user needs, great design and a strong work ethic. You should have a deep understanding of regional customer needs and cultural sensitivities as it relates to visual design the product, and the competitive landscape. You should be an excellent communicator and build strong cross-functional relationships, internally and externally. You should be skilled in working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders/partners.

Responsibility

Responsible for delivery of UX/Visual Design requests from various business stakeholders for website, marketing and CRM landing pages in the APJ region. Work closely with Product Managers & Dev leads to ensure that large project timelines are met, while ensuring best-in-class UX and design. Deliver day-to-day, run the business type tickets and operate within a Kanban delivery setup Inject excitement and creativity on web pages through your inherent passion for great designs and continuously evangelize new design concepts.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of UX/UI design experience in responsive web and mobile apps
  • 1-2 years UX/Design experience in an eCommerce focused company
  • Strong experience working from flows and wireframes through to the final product.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Sketch, InVision, Zeppelin, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, etc.
  • Proficiency in reading/writing and conversing in Japanese
  • Good understanding of Japanese culture and online consumer purchase behaviors and UX preferences
  • Ability to fluently translate requirements into written English from Japanese and conversing with design team members, dev teams and leadership in English
  • Ability to influence stakeholders as well as technical and non-technical team members
  • Experience doing quick usability testing and interpreting results with tools such as usertesting.com, etc.
  • Experience developing style guides and technically precise design specifications
  • Strong communication skills with ability to evangelize concepts with peers and leadership alike
  • Good familiarity with industry design language, standards and design protocols.
  • Leverage research/analytics to see how flows, designs and experiences can be improved to enhance performance, customer delight and/or business objectives
