  • Assessing business requirements
  • Empathize with and solve users’ needs and/or pain points.
  • Conduct interviews and perform user tests to identify pain points. Express findings in information architecture, basic wireframing, entry-level prototyping, and UX writing.
  • Conduct and evaluate quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate research topics.
  • Plan and implement user research strategies and methodologies.
  • Establish the design team’s research and testing environment.
  • Write effective documentation to use internally


  • Business level proficiency in both verbal and written English
  • Business level proficiency in Japanese to liaison with communication designers—our business front-liners and our primary users.
  • Ability to quickly and effectively share research findings with the team.
  • Ability to effectively describe end users’ narratives whilst translating them into UX documents
  • Ability to formulate specific, answerable, and practical questions.
  • Possess a strong design thinking mindset.
  • Familiarity with an array of UX research tools.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience in managing development-related projects.
  • Experience in people management or
  • Past experience working in an early phase design team OR experience launching one.
  • Experience with user testing, collecting reviews, and research, moderating, and facilitating workshops.
  • In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Robust portfolio
