Job Description

Back Market is the world’s leading refurbished electronics marketplace with a team of 700 people, powering operations in 17 countries (and counting!).

Named one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company in 2019 and again in 2021, our mission is simple: empowering people to consume tech sustainably by offering folks a high quality, accessible, and more eco-friendly alternative to buying new electronics. Why? Refurbished tech helps lower our collective environmental impact. We have indeed contributed to avoid the production of more than 1,000,000 tons of CO2e worldwide since our launch in 2014.

Be part of an exciting and growing international adventure that will change the way the world consumes tech.

We’re offering a fantastic career opportunity for a Growth Data Analyst to join our amazing APAC Growth team. The team’s role is to help design growth strategies across geographies in APAC and roll them out successfully to support our global growth. Our team is fast moving, determined, not afraid to fail and iterate, strategic thinkers and hands-on people, who believe we can change the way consumers buy tech products.

As Growth Data Analyst APAC, your role will be to help the General Managers in APAC to design their growth strategies, by giving them access to transversal data and analysis (traffic, price, selection, aftersales performance, customer satisfaction,…), and to support them at managing each country (Japan, South Korea, Australia) growth by analysing the performance through an extensive set of KPIs you will participate to select. Reporting to the GM APAC, you will be a crucial part of our success in APAC.

Responsibilities

YOUR MISSION (IF YOU ACCEPT IT)

  • You will be responsible for building, maintaining and monitoring KPIs for each country in APAC using SQL and Tableau.
  • You are an analytical thinker and you will support the GMs of each country to make sense of dozens of KPIs.
  • You will animate daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly business reviews for countries in APAC together with the GMs, analysing and commenting the performance.
  • You will work on ad-hoc strategy and analysis writings for countries across APAC.
  • You will support teams (Product, Marketing, Supply) within APAC in analysing past performance, producing roadmaps.
  • You will use your business acumen and your bigger picture view on the performance to give each team relevant input.
  • You will break-down and summarise complex problems into simple action plans.

Qualifications

YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF

  • You have previous experience as a Data Analyst (at least 3 years).
  • You have a strong command of SQL and Tableau or PowerBI (we use Tableau internally).
  • You have a strong business acumen, and have a record at rolling out successful growth strategies.
  • You are excited by working on international and expansion related projects, you have personal or professional experience abroad.
  • You are fluent in English (basic understanding of Japanese is a strong plus).
  • You have worked in a fast paced environment with offices across the globe.
  • You are organised and able to work on several projects simultaneously and autonomously.
  • You are outgoing and enthusiastic and can easily adapt to any situation

About the Company

Founded in 2014 by Thibaud Hug de Larauze, Quentin Le Brouster, and Vianney Vaute, Back Market is a global marketplace for premium refurbished electronics. We’re here to help make refurbished tech trustworthy, reliable, and affordable.

As a certified B-Corp, Back Market’s mission is to do more with what we already have. Because, well, what we already have is pretty great. That’s why all the tech you find on Back Market is better than new — because not only is it in perfect working condition, independent scientific research shows that refurbished electronics have a significantly smaller footprint on the environment than brand new. Every time someone chooses refurbished tech, we avoid additional environmental impact on the planet.

Of course, it’s not just about the tech sold by sellers on our marketplace, it’s also about how we run our business — we hold ourselves to high standards when it comes to our own sustainability practices, too. We work across the refurbishment industry to develop new technologies, support environmental initiatives related to electronic waste (e-waste), and work with local governments across the globe to pass legislation that supports sustainability and the Right to Repair in the tech industry.

We know we’re not alone in our vision for a world where tech respects the planet. With 884M€ raised to date and over 10 million customers around the world, we’re well on our way to the joyful revolution of Tech Reborn.
