Job Description

The individual will be responsible for implementing Digital Realty (DLR) Design & Engineering Guidelines Standards (DEGS) and will assist with the design and construction of multiple, concurrent projects. The incumbent will provide strategic and innovative thinking regarding design and the viability of architectural/structural and MEP elements of our datacenter development projects. The individual will also be able to provide bilingual technical translations of drawings, specifications and contracts to assist the project team.


Responsibilities

  • Interact with and manage Professional Consultants (Architects, Engineers) contractors and Equipment Suppliers
  • Apply DLR DEGS to all projects to ensure that standards are up-to-date with industry best practices and meet the Company’s business objectives (emphasis on value-engineering)
  • Assist in the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts related to anticipated design and construction expenditures
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships (Contractors, Architects, Engineers, Consultants, etc.) and benchmark performance to provide cost-effective services for DLR projects
  • Preparation of requests for proposals. Evaluation of proposals and recommendations to management regarding vendor selection

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or other related degree or practical experience
  • Demonstrated project management experience of technically complex projects. Ability to direct and manage internal and external resources
  • Develop an understanding of critical systems designs within the data center industry
  • Able to understand and interpret design drawings, construction drawings, construction specifications, design and construction contracts, project schedules, and detailed budgets and estimate summaries
  • Computer literate in the use of MS Office software (including Visio and Project) and AutoCAD
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
