Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join a data-driven project team focused on building scalable, cloud-native solutions.
You will design and implement distributed data pipelines and enable downstream ML and analytics workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Python and Spark
- Develop and manage data workflows on cloud platforms (preferably Azure or AWS)
- Leverage Databricks and Snowflake for transformation and analytics workloads
- Implement CI/CD and DevOps practices for data delivery
- Ensure data quality, security, and performance monitoring across environments
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support end-to-end solutions
Qualifications
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Python and distributed computing with Spark
- Experience with at least one of the cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), especially for data storage, compute, and orchestration
- Proficiency with Databricks and/or Snowflake
- Understanding of SQL and relational databases
- Hands-on experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Fluent Japanese (JLPT N2 or higher) and the ability to operate in a culturally aligned environment
Nice to have
- Native-level Japanese communication skills
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools
- Experience with cloud-native services like Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or GCP Dataflow
- Proficiency in DataBricks and Snowflake
- Exposure to data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
- Domain knowledge of industries such as pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences
