Job Description

As a talented and experienced digital content creator based in Tokyo, you will be hired to work as a key content creator/producer for a leading global beverage account in Japan, consisting of a portfolio of some of the world’s most iconic drinks brands.

Collaborating closely with other creators, designers, and account management, you will be responsible for crafting share-worthy content on the client’s social accounts, aimed at the Japanese Gen-Z & Millennial social community.

You may have worked as a content creator for other retail brands or have produced your own non-branded creative content portfolio on social. You will likely possess unique content strengths in specific content mediums (video, photo, illustration, animation or Copy-writing; as well as preferred social platforms (TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube); however you will be holistically experienced and passionate about producing digital content and understand the art of storytelling across different content mediums.

You must possess a curious interest to continually expanding the boundaries of content production, developing, testing and scaling new forms of content to keep the account’s channel content fresh and engaging for the audience.

You are able to pitch bold social content, ideas, and frameworks to the most senior clients, draft compelling content for an array of brands with different audience considerations, stay on top of trending content and audience behaviors to inform opportunistic content and strategies. 


Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the team to develop, and present creative concepts
  • Works closely with other makers and designers to ensure copy tone and style are consistent with visual tone, style, and brand guidelines 
  • Writes, shoots, edits, and produces content
  • Responsible for translating creative direction and copy points from briefs into engaging and effective concepts
  • Proof-reads and vets copy before to ensure consistency in tone, grammar and messaging before assets are handed over to be published
  • Stays abreast with global cultural trends and industry updates, and proactively develop timely ideas 
  • Ideates individually and collaboratively on innovative content ideas designed to meet long-term goals for both social media engagement and overall audience growth

Key Accountabilities/Outcomes

  • Professional and timely delivery of planned creative social content for the assigned client’s social channels
  • Creative team collaboration including nurturing of the junior creative team.
  • Creative concepting with ability to “Ideate - Test – Scale” approach to new content types

Core Duties

  • Collaborates with the team to develop, and present creative concepts based on client briefs
  • Works closely with other makers and designers to ensure copy tone and style are consistent with visual tone, style, and brand guidelines 
  • Writes, shoots, edits, and produces content
  • Responsible for translating creative direction and copy points from briefs into engaging and effective concepts
  • Proof-reads and vets copy before to ensure consistency in tone, grammar and messaging before assets are handed over to be published 
  • Stays abreast with global cultural trends and industry updates, and proactively develop timely ideas 
  • Ideates individually and collaboratively on innovative content ideas designed to meet long-term goals for both social media engagement and overall audience growth
  • Maintain a strong understanding of social platforms and take an active role in all aspects of a social media intensive project — identifying the brand’s issues, running competitive benchmarks, forming recommendations, building the architecture of proactive messaging, and reactive engagement
  • Interact with client teams including marketing and operations regularly, in order to prepare processes and operational flows for channel and content management.
  • Brief and coordinate with interdisciplinary team to prepare well informed community management strategies around cultural moments and crisis communication.  
  • Collaborate with analysts and media planners to report on channel results – specific data.
  • Keep up to date and provide recommendations on cultural events, news stories, social trends that may impact audience interaction with our clients’ brands. 

Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge of social media best practices, digital trends and the social media landscape in Japan.
  • Clear evidence of successful social media content creation, measured by organic content reach (views) and engagement (likes)
  • Deep understanding of the different mechanisms of varied platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Discord, TikTok, Twitch, etc. 
  • Self-motivated with a hands-on approach. 
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Creative thinker who can bring new ideas and keep our client brands relevant.
  • Native Japanese, English fluency
