Tech Lead (AgriTech)

Responsibilities

As a Tech Lead, you will be reporting to the CTO and will be working on revolutionizing agriculture through innovative technology solutions that promote sustainability by addressing global food crisis and climate change challenges. As a fast-growing AgriTech startup, we are committed to making a significant sustainability impact in the agricultural sector. You will be responsible for:

• Leading the end-to-end development process for our software solutions, from conceptualization and design to implementation and deployment.
• Designing and executing the product strategy, overseeing the Sagri products and development team, and making cross-functional choices about hiring, resource allocation, and resolving technical issues.
• Managing multidisciplinary teams of backend and Machine Learning engineers.
• Evaluating and implementing strategies for enhancing productivity and maximizing the engineering organization's growth, focusing on the next three years.
• Fostering the development of successors and next-generation leaders through recruitment and evaluation.

Qualifications

• You possess a Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, and have at least 7 years of experience building Software/SaaS products.
• You also have experience building and managing engineering teams.
• You are hands-on with technical aspects of development and implementation and can build and operate large-scale products.
• You have in-depth experience in at least one of the back-end development languages - Python, Node.js; and within Frontend you have worked with TypeScript/React.js/Next.js/Redux, etc.
• You have the ability to document system design decisions for communication between different parts of the organization.
• Practical experience with ML modeling or ML systems Development experience would be advantageous.
• Development and operation experience in Microservices architecture is preferred.
• You have a proven track record of achieving and maintaining top-notch performance in a high-energy and fast-paced work environment.
• Fluency in English and Japanese is required to work with teams distributed across Japan and globally.
