Job Description

Skechers is the leading shoe brand in Japan and major advertiser, using a mix of various media and tactics. Thus, the candidate will require having a broad range and years of marketing/advertising experience and proficient in managing a large budget and outside resources.

The position requires fluency in Japanese and English, as you will closely work with the US headquarters where there is an in-house advertising/creative team.

Overall Mission

  • To build and enhance Skechers Brand Awareness and Credibility amongst Japanese consumers
  • Identify and Utilize a range and proper mix of marketing activities that will properly and efficiently build the Skechers brand, products, and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all Brand asset (Creative work /Local adaptation with Global and Local Assets) with understanding of global creative direction and local requirement
  • Work close with US Brand asset/creative team (weekly basis)
  • Create local Digital/SNS asset (Still shots /Movie) with key product stories
  • Utilize latest digital Marketing platform to deliver our brand and message appropriate target
  • Manage global and local marketing assets (i.e, TV adaptation, Translation, Retouching )
  • Manage all Marketing creative asset for BTL (Shop in shop design / all POP’s for store)
  • Manage all creative work request to Skechers USA creative team (Work Orders)
  • Manage all creative work for Local Key Accounts
  • Support Skechers Japan Marketing team beyond his/her responsibility

Qualifications

  • Be responsible for handling major company marketing initiatives that may be a product range(s) and/or product technology(s)
  • Good understanding and experience across a broad spectrum in marketing i.e. Advertising, Media Planning & Buying, Local Major Celebs/Athlete Contracts, Events (B2C & B2B), Publicity, Product Placements, In-store Presence/Materials, and B2C & B2B Promotions and B2B Training/Education.
  • Advertising experience in TV, Print, Digital, Radio, and Outdoor,
  • Proficiency in articulating brand/product positioning and in writing creative briefs.
  • Well experienced to assess and evaluate creative
  • Understanding of and experience in consumer research
  • Ability and experience in leading and managing external resources/agencies: i.e. ad agency, media buying agency, PR agency, Sales Promotion agency, and Celeb casting agency and Product Placement Agencies.
  • Possesses a creative mind and loves challenging the status quo, yet understands and keeps relevant to the brand/products.
  • Strong passion and love for wanting to create something new, different, impactful and talked-about.
