Job Description

The Plant’s mission is to empower businesses to deliver innovative digital commerce experiences, expand market opportunities and make them leaders in Japan and beyond. We do this through innovative, tailored software solutions that solve complex challenges, delivering value with speed, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

As UX/UI Lead, you’ll shape the future of native mobile apps, eCommerce, and consumer-facing digital experiences. You’ll lead client discussions, create innovative wireframes, conduct user research, and design cutting-edge, user-friendly interfaces, all while collaborating with talented cross-functional teams to bring bold ideas to life.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for design-related discussions with clients. This involves understanding client needs, presenting design concepts and proposals, and collaborating with clients to ensure their satisfaction with the design solutions.
  • Create wireframes and prototypes to visualize and test design concepts. Use tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, or Figma to develop interactive prototypes that simulate user interactions and workflows. Iterate on prototypes based on feedback from stakeholders and usability testing.
  • Comparing products, services, and policies against those of competitors to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the market.
  • Conduct thorough user research activities to gain deep insights into end-user needs, behaviors, and pain points. This may involve interviews, surveys, usability testing, and competitor analysis. Use research findings to inform design decisions and ensure that our products are user-centric. Conduct usability testing sessions to evaluate the effectiveness of design solutions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces that enhance the user experience and reflect our brand identity. This includes creating layouts, navigation structures, and visual elements that are consistent with our design system and meet accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into compelling design solutions
  • Document design decisions, rationale, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity within the team. Communicate design updates, progress, and challenges to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Proven UX design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design expertise in projects that align with our projects, including native mobile apps, ecommerce or other consumer-focus digital experiences.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, usability principles, typography and interaction design.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale effectively. Experience working directly with clients and managing client relationships is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment, balancing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Fluent in both Japanese and English
  • UI/UX experiences in Japanese and English both EC and app.
