Job Description
Why This Role Matters
Streaming is transforming how people in Japan consume entertainment — and Fire TV is right at the center of it. This isn't a role where you execute someone else's playbook. You'll define the brand strategy for Fire TV in Japan, own the roadmap, and drive the decisions that shape how millions of customers discover and choose Fire TV. If you're looking for a role where you set the direction, influence senior stakeholders, and see your strategic bets play out at scale, this is it.
Who You Are
You're an experienced brand marketer who has independently owned and delivered large-scale, integrated campaigns — ideally in consumer tech, consumer electronics, digital media, entertainment, or a similarly high-velocity industry. You've managed significant marketing budgets end-to-end, made tough trade-off decisions on where to invest, and can clearly articulate the business rationale behind your choices. You don't just run campaigns — you build the strategy behind them, grounded in deep customer understanding and competitive intelligence.
You have a strong point of view on brand positioning and know how to translate it into consistent, compelling messaging across online and offline channels. You're equally confident presenting a long-term brand vision to senior stakeholders and diving deep into performance data to course-correct in real time. You've influenced and aligned cross-functional partners — product, sales, creative, agencies — without relying on positional authority, and you've done it across complex, matrixed organizations.
You bring a sharp understanding of the digital advertising environment, customer segmentation, and the competitive landscape. You know what's working in the field, what's not, and where the white space is. You're structured and organized, but you thrive in ambiguity — comfortable making judgment calls when the data is incomplete and moving fast when the opportunity demands it.
Because this role requires you to drive strategy locally while partnering globally, native-level Japanese and business-level English are essential. You'll be the voice of the Japan market segment and customers in global conversations and the one bringing global strategy to life on the ground.
Responsibilities
1. Planning and Execution of Integrated Marketing Initiatives: Develop and execute innovative integrated marketing campaigns across online and offline channels. Lead strategic briefs for Fire TV mass and brand campaigns, collaborating with partner teams in JP and the US Fire TV brand team to deliver data-driven, demand-driving initiatives. Review and approve customer-facing assets to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
2. Marketing Budget Management and Optimization: Manage media investments with paid media agencies, including strategy and execution for performance channels. Leverage analytical insights to optimize budget allocation through hypothesis development, execution, and performance validation. Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
3. Customer Insights and Business Analysis: Serve as the voice of the Japanese customer, commissioning research to understand customer needs. Analyze device- and cohort-specific behavioral trends to recommend regionally relevant action plans.
4. Cross-Functional and External Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal teams — including Prime Video, Amazon Advertising, Apps, analytics, and finance — to execute integrated campaigns. Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, particularly content providers.
5. Strategic Leadership and Communication: Autonomously set roadmaps and track goals. Create and present high-quality documents and presentations to senior leadership.
