Job Description

We are hiring a Lead Graphic Designer to take ownership of visual branding and creative production across all Global KA Holdings Inc. businesses. This is a IC design role responsible for producing high-quality marketing materials and maintaining visual consistency across print, digital, and event-based campaigns.

The designer will work closely with the Marketing Manager and other internal teams to create effective marketing materials in both English and Japanese.

This position is ideal for a designer who can work independently across a wide range of formats, with deep knowledge of Japanese typography, layout standards, and visual preferences.

Annual salary: 5-7.5 million JPY

Responsibilities

Visual Branding & Identity

  • Maintain and evolve visual brand guidelines for each business unit
  • Ensure consistency in typography, layout, and design standards across all media
  • Adapt brand visuals for both English and Japanese materials

Marketing & Advertising

  • Design Japanese flyers, catalogues, brochures, and other print materials
  • Create digital ad creatives for platforms such as Google, Meta, and LINE
  • Produce visual assets for landing pages, social media, and newsletters
  • Develop layouts and visuals for event promotion and seasonal campaigns

Web & Interactive

  • Collaborate with the web team to ensure visual consistency on websites
  • Design graphics, banners, and visuals for landing pages and campaign pages
  • Contribute to UX/UI discussions for marketing-driven web improvements

Trade Show & Events

  • Design trade show booth graphics and signage
  • Create large-format display materials for events and school fairs
  • Work with external vendors for print production and installation

Project & Quality Oversight

  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously across brands
  • Review third-party creative work and ensure visual standards are met
  • Provide guidance to freelance designers if added to the team

Work Environment

This is a hands-on, hybrid design role with strategic visibility. You will report to the Marketing Manager and work directly with marketing leads, content creators, and external vendors. You will be responsible for creating daily deliverables while ensuring a cohesive visual identity across brands.

You will help shape the visual expression of:

  • Our education-focussed businesses
  • Digital and print advertising campaigns
  • Public-facing marketing materials in English and Japanese
  • Corporate and event-related branding

Qualifications

Essential

  • 5+ years of graphic design experience with a strong cross-format portfolio
  • Experience designing both digital ads and printed material
  • Strong understanding of Japanese typography and layout best practices
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Figma or similar tools
  • Ability to manage the entire design process from concept through delivery
  • Strong time management and ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Fluent Japanese proficiency; business-level English proficiency

Preferred

  • Experience in education, publishing, or consumer marketing
  • Familiarity with responsive web design and UX/UI collaboration
  • Experience designing for bilingual (Japanese-English) environments
  • Ability to work across multiple brands and campaigns
