Job Description

Incubion builds the foundation that helps robots reach society, connect with the right people and information, and move more smoothly toward real-world adoption and use. RobotATTA! is a robot discovery platform for exploring service robot use cases, products, support resources, and related stakeholders. Its core value lies not only in organizing information, but in connecting it—so users can navigate across related cases, products, services, and people, and more easily reach the conversations and resources needed for real-world robot adoption. As we continue to grow RobotATTA!, we are looking for a Product & Service Development Lead who can help shape the service from both a product and technical perspective.

Employment Type: Full-time preferred, with the possibility of starting on a part-time or contract basis for the right candidate.

■ Location: Remote / On-site (Flexible)

■ Job Description:

This is a core role in shaping the future of RobotATTA! as both a business and a web service. We are looking for someone who can turn a clear product vision into a stronger, more scalable, and more usable service through practical experience in web service design and development.

As the key internal lead for service and development decisions, you will help define what RobotATTA! should become as a modern web service, identify structural gaps and improvement opportunities, and make practical proposals that strengthen the product without compromising its core purpose.

This role is not centered on full in-house implementation from day one. Initially, the focus will be on service design, requirement definition, and development leadership with the UX designer and external development partners. At the same time, we are looking for someone who can read the existing Ruby on Rails codebase, make light changes when appropriate, and help us gradually build stronger in-house technical capability over time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall service and product development direction of RobotATTA! from a technical and operational perspective.
  • Serve as the primary internal lead for web service design and development decisions, identifying structural gaps and improvement opportunities in the current service.
  • Define what RobotATTA! should become as a modern web service, and propose practical improvements that strengthen the product without compromising its core vision.
  • Translate product, UX, and business needs into clear service and technical requirements, and drive them toward implementation with external development partners.
  • Work closely with the UX designer to refine workflows, user-facing specifications, and product behavior in ways that are both user-friendly and realistically implementable.
  • Guide decision-making across core web service functions such as account management, authentication, subscriptions, integrations, automation, and data design.
  • Review the existing Ruby on Rails-based service structure, and make light modifications or targeted fixes when appropriate while helping assess future in-house development opportunities.
  • Improve development processes, prioritization, and communication so that RobotATTA! can evolve more effectively as both a product and a business.

Qualifications

■ Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to the design, development, or evolution of a web service or software product
  • Practical knowledge of Ruby on Rails, including the ability to read an existing codebase and make light modifications when needed
  • Strong understanding of how modern web services are structured and operated, including areas such as account management, authentication, subscriptions, integrations, automation, and data design
  • Ability to translate product, UX, and business needs into workable service and technical requirements
  • Ability to identify structural gaps, design weaknesses, and improvement opportunities in an existing service
  • Confidence in discussing specifications, implementation approaches, and trade-offs with external development partners
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across business, design, and engineering
  • Professional working proficiency in both Japanese and English
  • A proactive, structured, and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving

■ Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience helping shape or improve a web platform or multi-sided platform
  • Experience working closely with UX designers or product designers in service development
  • Familiarity with AWS-based service environments
  • Experience supporting or leading iterative improvement of an existing product
  • Experience in startup or small-team environments
  • Interest in robotics, service design, or real-world technology adoption

About the Company

Incubion Inc. is a design consultancy specializing in human-robot experience design. We help set up an open, creative environment where humans and robots interact naturally, collaborate for social good, and benefit each other.

--Empowering Real-World Robot Deployment--

We coordinate service robot trials in public and private settings—connecting robot providers with potential users across EXPOs, local governments, and private companies. Through our platform RobotATTA!, we make real-world robotics use cases discoverable and comparable, democratizing access to information for non-experts. More than a database, RobotATTA! serves as an interactive bridge—fostering connections between robot seekers and providers to accelerate meaningful adoption and innovation in robotics.

■ What This Role Offers

  • A rare opportunity to shape a genuinely distinctive service at the intersection of robotics, product design, and real-world adoption
  • A central role with meaningful ownership over how RobotATTA! evolves as both a business and a web service
  • The chance to work across product, UX, and technical decision-making rather than being confined to a narrow function
  • Direct collaboration with leadership, the UX designer, and external development partners in defining what the service should become
  • The opportunity to help build stronger in-house technical capability over time, including future selective in-house development
  • A flexible working style, including remote / on-site arrangements
  • A role with long-term growth potential as the service, team, and technical function continue to expand
