Role Overview
Conceptualize, design, and implement immersive onboarding and activation experiences that maximize user understanding, conversion, and retention across web, email, and software. Successfully explain our powerful language learning software to millions of tech-averse users. Blend high-level strategy, impactful visual design, and persuasive copywriting to make users feel like they’re on a crystal clear premium quality product journey from the second they step onto our website and even way beyond the point of purchase.
The essential factor by which we select for this role will be your ability to convince as many people as possible to download our software, try it, love it, and pay for it, all while serving an exquisitely entertaining visual and extraordinarily convincing text-based onboarding experience across web, email, and product to visitors and users.
Responsibilities
- Own the onboarding flow from the moment users hit our website until they pay and format a habit
- Design effective and immersive software onboarding flows from scratch for web, email, and our software
- Direct creative and engineering resources to make sure your plans are executed in time and at a high quality
- Be able to flexibly jump from high-level visionary thinking to visual design to fun conversion copywriting and other disciplines all while delivering premium quality for all of them
- Be a masterful conversion poet who knows what to say at what time to elicit the reaction you want
- Balance business needs and UX needs by compromising as little as possible and maximally satisfying both
- Measure the impact of your work through data-driven analytics and by directly talking with users and continually improve the effectiveness
- Coordinate your plans with the marketing team to ensure strategy and campaign alignment
- Increase conversion by maximally increasing perceived product value before purchase
- Increase retention by always making sure users get the maximum value for their specific use-case
- Ability to autonomously work in a fast-paced startup environment
Qualifications
- Strong portfolio showcasing your past onboarding work and the impact it had is required
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, and marketing teams is required
- Experience with A/B testing and user research to optimize onboarding flows is required
- Proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., Posthog) for tracking onboarding metrics is required
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g. Figma) is required
