The Marketing team at Musubi Lab is just getting started so we’re seeking experienced, motivated individuals who have ideas on promoting Japanese goods to Western audiences. You’ll help plan content and finesse our digital voice, as well as help develop and maintain a community of people who are passionate about not only the look of their home but the stories behind each piece inside.
Musubi Lab offers a flexible environment complete with hybrid work arrangements (for this role you can’t be fully remote but you can take a couple of WFH days every week) and the belief that you can’t sell a lifestyle if you’re not living. That’s right — no overtime.
Experience in a marketing strategy (or related) role, in-house or agency. We will be all learning and teaching as we grow, so it’s best if you have a solid foundation to work from.
Bonus points if you have any Google certifications.
Native English, conversational Japanese. We’re hoping for roughly N2 level, but you don’t need to have taken the test. Interviews will be conducted partially in Japanese.
Preferably living in Tokyo as you will be needed in the office sometimes.

Monthly salary: 2,000,000 JPY ~
In Japan, there are many tablewares with unique characteristics cultivated in each region's food culture.
The customs of choosing, arranging, and enjoying the harmony of the tableware with the food have been rooted deeply as part of daily life.
In addition, each tableware has a wonderful backstory about the craftsman's feelings, culture, and history. It is our belief that by providing our customers the opportunity of cherishing and enjoying one’s favorite tableware, it will make the dining scene in any countries more creative and enriching.
At MUSUBI KILN, it is not our job to simply sell tablewares, but it is our responsibilities to provide our customers the enjoyment of using tableware through telling table setting ideas and hidden stories behind our products.
There is another side of our mission on traditional Japanese table ware, which facing problem of aging population and the declining number of craftsmen.
In cooperation with the Kutani ware Cooperative and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, we will pass on those wonderful techniques to young craftsmen and make efforts to pass them on to future generations.
