Job Description
Noun is looking for an Interaction Designer who thinks through making, is quick with their hands, confident in prototyping from scrappy ideas, and equally capable of delivering polished, thoughtful outcomes. In a rapidly shifting landscape of technology and social contexts, you will bring transformative interactive experiences to life. You embrace change, thrive in ambiguity, and see constraints as catalysts for creativity.
Responsibilities
- Lead by doing: think critically to create work that truly matters in the moment, choosing the most effective medium rather than defaulting to a fixed output
- Move fluidly between structured problem-solving that involves framing challenges and translating insights into iterative prototypes, alongside crafting narratives that shape meaningful solutions
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies, integrating them into your work with foresight, while ensuring they remain approachable and intuitive through a human-centered lens
- Fearlessly experiment and learn new tools, frameworks, and methodologies while bringing others along for the journey
- Collaborate with designers across disciplines to align your crafted outputs with user experience.
Tackle problems across diverse industries, collaborating with organizations of all sizes, from established leaders to ambitious newcomers - Present and communicate your work in ways that inspire confidence, foster alignment, and build momentum with clients and stakeholders
- Contribute across the full design process, from concept development, strategy, and prototyping to collaborating in development and delivering design across an entire arc.

- 3+ years of professional experience in interaction design, product design, UX/UI, or related fields—taking ideas from concept to launch
- Passion for shaping new concepts and exploring unconventional approaches to create innovative, human-centred experiences
- Ability to translate nuances and insights into interactions, thinking at both the big-picture level and with careful attention to detail
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, with confidence in building and testing interactive prototypes. (Physical computing and hands-on making/prototyping experience is a plus)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and with clients or stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a bilingual (Japanese–English) environment
Mindsets and behaviors we value at Noun
- Staying relentlessly positive and focusing on how things can be done, instead of getting stuck on why they can’t

- Embracing uncertainty and change with the utmost curiosity - willing to jump in, getting hands-on, and challenging the status quo
- Being driven by questions, not just looking for the “right” answer
- Taking ownership and having the confidence to act - even when things don’t always go as planned
