We are looking for a motivating leader to deliver Operations objectives by planning and supplying the right flow of goods to LEGO Japan customers and developing the Operations organisation in line with the company’s strategic plans.
Responsibilities
Leadership and management
- Develop the future strategy for Japan Operations in line with overall JP business plan
- Drive the team motivation, satisfaction and culture in line with what we value
- Encourage and develop key talents and secure a strong succession pipeline at all levels of the Operations team
- Set the commercial and organizational direction for LEGO JP as part of the JP LT, focusing on the Operations team while supporting Sales, Marketing and Finance.
- Represent JP within APAC Operations networks securing strong alignment between regional planning and local execution
- Facilitate strong cross-functional collaboration by mentoring the team on other departments’ work, overall business strategy, industry trends, customer needs etc.
- Keep day-to-day business running and achieving agreed targets by monitoring planning, inventory and sales reports
- Control and allocate resources as appropriate and ensure effective cross-training within the team
Demand Planning
- Lead the Demand Planning team and develop business processes to help capture accurate demand signals for the market
- Own local S&OP process which is a critical link between Sales, Marketing and Global Supply Chain; ensuring global & regional demand directions are adhered to
- Manage safety stock and inventories life cycle in local DCs including exit and excess
- Oversee supply and inventory flow to optimize stock availability, minimize exposure and in general secure inventory health
- Overall accountable for JP forecasting metrics
Customer Planning
- Promote collaborative customer forecasting and ensure close customer planning alignment
- Oversee the Customer Flow of Goods planning to optimise Consumer Sales and customer inventory metrics
- Drive a close day-to-day alignment between Sales and Operations teams to both optimise stock flow to individual customers as well as securing a strong overall market approach
Customer Service
- Lead Customer Service team indirectly through Snr. Customer Service Manager
- Understand and work within each customers’ ordering and distribution framework, processing and delivering orders efficient manner and within expected timeframes
- Secure a line of sight between go-to-market strategy, customer and marketing plans to the customer order execution
- Develop and implement Order Management systems and processes to secure workload efficiencies
- Overall accountable for JP service metrics
Customer and key vendor contacts
- Build partnerships with local customers and suppliers by focusing on mutual value creation
- Provide outstanding customer service while maximising revenue and reducing supply chain costs by linking regional supply chain developments to customer needs

In this role, you will be directly report to the General Manager LEGO Japan. As part of the Japan Leadership team, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with esteemed regional and local teams, and is responsible for driving the Operations organization to a greater consumer responsiveness and closer customer collaboration.
Qualifications
- Relevant Graduate or Postgraduate qualifications
- Senior leadership experience within FMCG or general retail with a heavy focus on seasonal and promotional activities
- Minimum 10 years of experience in operations, supply chain, sales planning or logistics roles
- Consistent track record of leading and motivating a team of professionals and delivering on departmental & company goals
- SAP and Advanced Excel preferred
- Shown leadership skills, ability to identify and build talent
- Strong ability to lead and manage even under volatile and uncertain situations
- Critical and analytical thinking to identify opportunities and risks
- Open communication and international collaboration
- Ability to travel interstate and overseas for internal and external business meetings
