Role: School Manager
The School Manager will lead the operational setup and ongoing management of a new international school inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. Reporting
to the Owner/Board, this role is central to launching the school for Fiscal Year 2027 and establishing a strong foundation that integrates both operational excellence and pedagogical integrity.
Role Overview
This is a founding position with significant responsibility in the pre-opening phase. The School Manager will work closely with leadership to build systems, recruit staff, and shape a school culture aligned with Reggio Emilia principles. The role extends beyond administration to include meaningful collaboration on the school’s educational direction.

Monthly Salary
¥550,000 – ¥750,000, based on experience and qualifications
Responsibilities
Pre-Opening (2026–FY2027)
- Assist in School Setup: licensing, compliance, policies, and operational systems
- Support environment design aligned with Reggio principles
- Assist in recruit, hire, and onboard teaching and administrative staff
- Coordinate vendors, facilities setup, and budgeting
Post-Opening
- Oversee daily school operations including scheduling, staffing, and communications
- Ensure compliance with regulations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families and the school community
- Support documentation practices and visibility of children’s learning
- Collaborate with pedagogical leadership (e.g., atelierista/pedagogista) to maintain fidelity to Reggio principles
- Manage budgets, reporting, and operational improvements
Qualifications
- 4 Years+ in School administration, operations, or leadership
- Deep understanding of the Reggio Emilia philosophy
- Pedagogical background strongly preferred (early childhood or primary)
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills in English (Japanese proficiency strongly preferred)

Compensation
Monthly salary: ¥550,000 – ¥750,000, based on experience and qualifications
Performance bonus: discretionary, based on milestones and contribution
